NORTHVIEW CALENDAR

MEN’S MIDWEEK THIS WEEK — 6:30 DINNER
All the men will be meeting this Wednesday at 6:30 for a men’s dinner followed by a midweek lesson at 7PM.  Our upcoming midweek schedule is as follows:

  • 8/15 — Men’s Midweek
  • 8/22 — Women’s Midweek
  • 8/29 — All Church Midweek
  • 9/5 — Small Group Gathering

WOMEN’S MORNING WORSHIP AT THE FARM — This Saturday, August 18 From 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Please join the women of Northview for a singing devotional/worship this Saturday, August 18 from 9:30-11:30 AM at the Farmstead on the River (1565 Green Drive Canton, GA 30114). This is going to be a morning to worship God in the tranquility of his natural sanctuary.  Bring your bug spray and dress comfortably wearing flat shoes (flip-flops or sandals are fine).  Also, if possible, please share a ride with a friend or two so we have limited vehicles.  For questions contact Patti Hunter 770-367-2354 or Melinda Szegedi 678-467-4242.

AWANA TEACHERS MEETING — Sunday, August 26th @ 12PM
There will be a mandatory meeting for all Awana teachers (new as well as all veterans) on Sunday, August 26 at Noon.  Lunch will be provided.  Please reach out toHelen Lenahen if you have any questions.

MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENT MEETING — Sunday August 26th @ 12PM
Parents of Middle Schoolers, please join us in the Middle School room after church for our first parent meeting of the school year.  We will be discussing the flow of the MS ministry, what to expect throughout the school year, and there will be time for a Q&A session at the end.

SAVE THE DATE! MARRIAGE RETREAT — September 7-8, 2018
Please mark your calendars for a marriage retreat led by Martin and Carmen Bentley on September 7-8, 2018.  Stay tuned for details in the coming weeks.

KIDS CORNER

AWANA FALL PROGRAM — Sign Up Before August 26th!
AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) is a Bible-based memory club for children K thru 5th Grade. We focus on building a scriptural foundation in a fun environment. The club meets every Wednesday night from 7-8:30 PM.  Each child needs to register (even returning members) through our church app.  Registration fee is $15/child which covers the entrance book, workbook and any awards the child will earn.  No child will be turned away due to lack of funds. DRAKE HOUSE FUNDRAISER/MISS MARY’S ICE CREAM CRANKIN’ — Sunday, August 26

The 14th Annual Miss Mary’s Ice Cream Crankin’ presented by BurgerFi is set for Sunday, August 26th 2:00 – 4:00 pm in Historic Roswell Square. Crankin’ Teams are needed. Your corporate, civic, faith, or family team’s homemade ice cream can compete for top awards for the Best Vanilla, Best Chocolate, Best Fruit, and Best Other Flavor.  What’s your Crankin’ Team’s winning flavor?

2018 SINGLES CONFERENCE — August 31-September 2
The 2018 International Singles Conference is in Phoenix AZ. Singles from around the world will be gathering to encourage one another and be inspired to follow Jesus more closely. ATLANTA 4 AFRICA CHARITY GOLF CLASSIC  — September 10

FOOD, FELLOWSHIP AND MUSIC HOSTED BY THE MOORE’S — October 6
Attention: Woodstock, Canton, Pickens, Forsyth folks and anyone else!  Join us for a ‘hootenanny’ on Saturday, October 6 from 3PM-7PM at Randy and Connie Moore’s home (74 Teaberry Ridge Road Talking Rock, GA 30175).  Please bring your favorite side dish and drink for your family. Meat, desserts and paper goods will be provided. Folding chairs are appreciated. If you play an instrument, please bring it!!

PRAYER REQUESTS
  • Please pray for the family of Chuck Lucas who passed away last week.  Specifically, please pray for his daughters, Leigh Ann Neyland and Allison Veal as well as his son Jonathan Lucas.  Please also pray for Chuck’s widow, Ann Lucas as the family mourns during this time.
  • Please pray for Dan Clemenz who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  Dan started chemotherapy on May 29.  Please pray for God to work in a great way through the treatments and pray for the Clemenz family during this time.
  • Please pray for Renee Cathey’s mother, Charlotte Seiger, who is battling two aggressive forms of Lymphoma: b-cell and Burkitt’s.  Please pray for strength and healing as Charlotte undergoes chemotherapy.
  • Please continue to pray for Mark Law as he goes through chemotherapy.  Please pray that he will be able to eat and gain weight.
  • Please pray that Mike Dickie will regain the use of his right hand in the next 6 months!
  • Please pray for Mimi Dyer who suffered an ocular stroke and has lost sight in one eye.  Please pray for her sight to be restored and her spirits to be lifted.
